My kingdom for a pizza

My favorite food is pizza.

This wonderful food consists of a flat dough covered with a base of cheese and tomato sauce. Various ingredients can be placed on this base, such as tomato slices, olives, ham, pepperoni or exotic ingredients, such as pineapple chunks. Personally, I like pizza with pulled pork, meatballs, red onions and barbecue sauce.

The ingredients and preparation of a pizza can be summarized as follows:

You have to make a wheat flour dough, which is flattened and given a generally rounded shape, although you can also give it a long rectangular shape (actually the shape and size is up to you). This flattened dough should be covered with tomato sauce, cheese and the ingredients and condiments you want. Finally, the coated dough is heated in an oven until the dough is baked and the cheese is melted.

The things I like most about pizza are: the cheese, and that it can be prepared with the weirdest combination of ingredients you can think of. Regarding the dough, I prefer thin and crispy doughs. 

Despite being, in terms of taste, one of the most exquisite foods in the world, it should not be forgotten that it is made with many hypercaloric ingredients and with high levels of salt and carbohydrates. Excessive consumption of pizza (and other junk foods)  has a negative impact on health due to its high percentage of calories, sodium and carbohydrates that can cause health problems such as diabetes, hypertension and arteriosclerosis. This does not mean that you should stop eating pizza. You can enjoy a tasty pizza (or your favorite junk food) but consume it only occasionally and never daily.

My favourite piece of technology

 Personally, I am not surrounded by many technological gadgets. I only have a pc in bad condition and a cell phone that works decently. By default, my favorite technology is the cell phone.

The cell phone that I use now I have had it since February of this year. It is not a high-end cell phone but at least it works properly.

I do several things with the pc: make calls (almost always to my mother), save documents and classes to study, but what I most like to do is listen to music. I connect my headphones to the cell phone and forget about the world. I listen to music almost all day (at a moderate volume to take care of my ears) while doing my activities (cooking, studying, cleaning the house, working and sometimes sleeping). I like my cell phone because it has made the confinement a little more pleasant due to the pandemic. I think that if I did not have this blessed device in my hands I would not be able to enjoy my favorite songs and my life would be more boring than usual.

Why I chose chemistry and pharmacy?

 When I was a child I wanted to be an archaeologist. I liked dinosaurs and also read about ancient civilizations and therefore their ruins. However, time passes and in high school I liked other things, such as chemistry and biology.

In high school I was not even interested in studying at the university, I liked chemistry and biology but I had no interest in any career, but I did not want to be lazy. However I decided to study chemistry and pharmacy because it combined my interests: chemistry and the human health (but never enter medicine, until today I do not tolerate the idiosyncrasies of physicians. Even without a vocational motivation, I felt that it was the right career for me.

As I said in the first post, I have been twiceto this career. The first time I had a motivational crisis (not vocational), due to constant stress, a few contact with my classmates and poor academic results. However, this second time I am more motivated and my life is more orderly and I communicate  with my classmates.

When I graduate, I would like to work in the industrial area, research and lately I am interested in teaching. I would like to help students who are having personal and academic difficulties to pass their courses and prevent them from dropping out due to those difficulties.

Autobiography

Hello! My name is Patricio. I was born in 1989 in Valdivia, southern Chile, a city known for craft beers, the biggest earthquake in history and the worst bridge in Chile (Cau Cau). I lived between Lago Ranco and Paillaco (when I was child) and later I lived in Valdivia, where I studied and worked.

I studied at Liceo Rodulfo Amando Philippi (Paillaco)
and later I studied Chemistry and Pharmacy at Universidad Austral  (Uach), but due to bad academic results I retired. After that I worked as postman, in fast food places, parking meters and even washing cars. I decided to go back to studying Chemistry and Pharmacy but at Universidad de Chile. Now I live in Santiago.

I live alone but before lived with my parents and my younger sister.

I like to play electric guitar, read about Biology and Universal History, buy old science books, and listen music.
